To study this specialisation, you must first apply to the Master's program "Verkehrsingenieurwesen und Mobilität" (in English "Transport Engineering and Mobility"). You can download the supplementary sheet during the application process on RWTHonline. With this sheet, you indicate which specialisation you are applying for (in your case: Railway Systems Engineering). You must fill in the relevant fields on the supplementary sheet and upload it again.

Admission is valid for one semester only. For the following semester, a new application is required.

The score is not relevant. Academic admission requirements include a first university degree that proves the necessary engineering background education as outlined in the exam regulations.

Yes. Both registrations are independent. Be aware of the deadline.

You can choose from multiple modules taught at RWTH or another national or international higher education institution that are not included in your curriculum. The content must be directly related to the Master's program Railway Systems Engineering. Language courses, courses on presentation techniques or similar cannot be acknowledged. For more information, refer to the module handbook.

You do not need to deregister from courses. For exams, you need to deregister if you do not want to take them. Be aware of the deadlines (usually 3 working days before the exam). After failing an exam, you are obliged to complete the course.

Yes, but you cannot compensate missing CP in Schale 1 and 2 with CP from Schale 3.

No, it is not possible.

There are no requirements to do the internship.

You can take either one (16 or 12 weeks) or two internships (8 weeks each), which will count toward the progress of your studies.

There is no official internship program. You have to apply on your own. You can contact the RSE Coordinator (support@fb3.rwth-aachen.de) for advice.

Yes. Most courses don't require attendance. However, it is recommended that you take part in the lectures and exercises.

Theoretically yes, but the master's thesis takes 6 months (full-time) and the internship 2 to 4 months (full-time). Therefore, it is not recommended.

You must have at least 60 CP.
