Soft Skills
Every year RWTH expects around 1,900 new international students whose needs are at the focus of the International Office's attention.
They provide you with a good start at the university, welcome you, and mentor you individually, particularly in the beginning but also beyond. Quick and successful integration
into the University and city, a lively culture of welcoming, and eye to eye mentorship are important to use.
The International Office already organizes a series of offers to attain this goal. Using the principle "from students for students" they want to not only improve supervision
overall for international students but also offer you the perfect opportunity to get involved internationally, make important experiences and acquire soft skills.
"Be Buddy" is an informal mentoring programme initiated by the International Office of RWTH Aachen University which aims to enable newly enrolled international
students to adjust to university life and living in a new city, and to meet, mix with, and learn from other RWTH students. Thus the International Office is intent on matching
up each international student with an experienced RWTH student – if possible from the same faculty – who is to provide support and general information.

The Welcome Week is an introductory week for new international students. This week will make it easier for you to start your studies. You will not only get to know other
students and advisors, but you will also receive important information regarding course registration and other important information.
Therefore, it is compulsory to attend the Welcome Week if you are enrolling in the RSE program.
